Spain - February 2017

I spent a fortnight at the Kaktus in Albir during February 2017. The weather was kind from the outset, with the temperature reaching 25 degrees C one day ! Usually the temperature ranged from 15 to 19 degrees, with overnight spits of rain, on occasions.

The usual half day trips were made to Javea and Finestrat, but the full day Coast and Country, and Elche and Alicante were missed deliberately. A selection of photographs is below

During the first week a visit to the Cap Negret hotel was made. Unfortunately the hotel was not finished (refurbishment ) so no video was produced of this hotel - new to SAGA. The swimming pool had sand in it and the hotel was sited on a busy main road with no proper footpath on the hotel side before the bridge which marks the boundary with Altea.

Joan was at the hotel Kaktus for one day after I arrived, and Peter Jump turned up the second week - his friend was coming the day I left, Peter was staying for 3 weeks. There were others there who recognised me from Denia - which I visited one day - but all the people I wanted to see were either in Benidorm or at the market in Denia ... Claire, the SAGA representative was there. I went back to Albir almost immediately - but it made a pleasant train/coach day out, the line for the T Tram being under repair and refurbishment between Calpe and Denia ( the last trip between Altea Station and Calpe )
