France - July 2006

A quick 5 day trip to France for the weekend of the 14th July with Chris. The weather was wall to wall sunshine ... the temperature hovering around 90 degrees.

During my absence someone had come to grief on the wall. It had been hit with sufficient force to dent one side ( the loose fill absorbed the impact ) and pop out a stone or two on the other side. No serious damage .... but yet another job to repair it.

So ... why can't I pull this furry thing ? It's only a dog end ........

Most of the time was spent showing Chris the local scenery .... including the celebration fireworks at Gorron and Mayenne, plus a bit of shopping. It was really too hot to work, but an early and late session saw the garden tidied up and grass cuttings burnt.

A BBQ at La Petite Reigniere on Sunday also provided the opportunity for some live music, but there were casualties along the way.

Enough to drive a dog to drink ...... and give others a headache .....

Chris lives at Fareham ........ there was time for a quick trip down the creek to make the most of the weather, before returning home.
