FRANCE --June 2010
After a short break back in England I returned to France early in June. The first job was to cut the grass which had grown rapidly during my two week absence, with the onset of the warmer weather. Some finishing touches were put to the bedroom storage started last visit.
Wednesday saw a visit to Le Local, for a Fish and Chip supper.
Having seen one cherry tree stripped absolutely bare by birds in just three days, I contacted another neighbour to pick some of their cherries before they suffered the same fate. I managed about a couple of kilos before I was cherried out......they were lovely ! Since they will not be in France until the end of July I took a picture so they could see what they missed ! |

| Sue and Pete
arrived on the 15th for 3 nights. On Wednesday we went to Mayenne for shopping and lunch. The afternoon was spent dealing with an emergency, a blockage in a pipe from the upstairs loo, a job not bargained for ! But the help was welcomed. I later patched the wallboard we had to disturb, to save rebuilding the cupboard area. |

The last week was very hot, so most of the time I was outside in the garden. When it became too hot to work I watched Wimbledon, or the F1 Grand Prix.

Despite the dry conditions certain plants were thriving, and the peaches, pears and grapes are still looking good.
I also concreted an area in front of the shed, and moved a fencing post by the steps to open things up.

On Wednesday I had a swim at La Petite Reigniere, the pool was quite warm. Sara went off to the South of France, Croix Valmer, on Friday - playing with the Mayenne Symphony Orchestra. She came back on Sunday, late.
On Tuesday I left after tidying up and lunch, since the ferry was not until 7.30 in the evening.
