France - June 2015
The last week in May, before departure to France, was busy - mainly grass cutting and runs to the tip with rubbish from the garage. After a BBQ at Sue and Pete's, to which Carol and Keith came, I returned to France at the start of June. But guess what ? I was diverted from the Fastcraft, to Caen on the Mont St Michel, due to bad weather ! Fortunately the weather improved, and a pleasant three weeks was spent in France. |

Pleasant ? At times - when the jack hammer etc. was silent. Otherwise due to the excavations, and dismantling the whole of the front wall next door, it was noisy ! Not only that but work was also started again at No 2 down the road ... so the area was littered with various vans, apart from the huge skip.( see last report ). But much of the time was spent watching tennis from Queen's, and later in the trip, the Austrian Grand Prix.
Various visits were made to eat, and two new bar/restaurants were tried out. My favourite being L'Imprévu ( which is now advertised !) Visits were also made to vide greniers with Sara and Tony when they returned from the UK, after a brief visit with friends at the start of my trip.
As usual the grass had grown, and needed cutting before Chris came over to joint the lower wall. There was also some pruning of the trees, which had grown considerably.

At Saint-Bômer-les-Forges, near Domfront, there was a vide grenier as part of the village day. Chris and Lise had a stall there. There was the usual parade of tractors and a band playing. The main vide grenier was in a field nearby.

Chris was playing one night at Champsecret, near Domfront. I called in for a while, and had a curry.
The Thursday before departure was spent with Sara and Tony, going first to La Ferté Macé for the market and a bite to eat in the English tea room close by. The weather was overcast for a change - but at least it did not drizzle when we were out of the car.

Then on to Bagnoles de l'Orne. A walk to the Chateau, and the Dog Rock ...which afforded good views of Bagnoles, before heading down to the show of old cars and listen to the jazz band.

The musicfest at Gorron was visited, where Carys was playing and singing ... there was music for all tastes.

Meanwhile the work progressed next door .......

I shall return to France soon, I hope in time for the Tour de France which passes through Ambrières-les-Vallées - and for Carys playing and singing at a local bar.
