France - March 2007
This short visit in March was mainly to get organised for the next trip in April .... grass cutting, gardening and a bit of socialising, was the order of the day.
The first day was cloudy but the weather soon improved and there were three good days, with temperatures sufficient to bring out the baby lizards, and butterflies.
One of the biggest problems was locating things, since it was now some five months since I last tidied up !

Most of the spring flowers were out, and some of the blossom on the fruit trees

Sara was playing bassoon in a concert at Chantrigné on the Saturday evening. As with most communal events it was well attended. There were three bands / orchestras playing all sorts of music: French marches, a percussion demonstration as well as a medley of other popular tunes .... including bagpipe music. |
There was a Fête foraine over the weekend in Gorron ... which the children enjoyed.

The lavoir at Ambrières is still in use ! .......

Ambrières - Quartier des Rocs ... then ( Courtesy of Pix'Art, Ambrières ) ... and now.
The building on the right, overlooking the lavoir, was obviously built after the original postcard was printed and obscures most of the view. The building on the left has been converted with door and window facing the main road.
