FRANCE - March 2009

A quick 5 day trip down to the house at the end of March ( via Poole - Cherbourg ) with Chris, saw the grass cut and some of the weeding done. The footpath was weed treated and some dead shrubs were lifted in the lower area.

It had been about 6 months since the last visit, but everything seemed to be in good order and the house soon warmed up.

The Wednesday morning was spent visiting the Bank and getting in more provisions. In the afternoon Sara and Tony came over for an hour or so. Thursday was spent partly in the garden..... Friday also, with a quick visit down to Mayenne.

On a local cruise around the area we visited the barrage at the end of the sailing lake at La Haie Traversaine, which I had never seen before.

On the Sunday we went for lunch at Le Local in Couemes-Vaucé, then on to Gorron for the Flower Carnival weekend, where Tony, Bethany and Carys were playing in the batucada band around the streets. We met up with Sara and wandered into the Rhythm and Blues session in the mediatheque, before looking at the various display stalls, and funfair - where Megan was installed !

Monday morning was spent tidying and packing for the return trip from Cherbourg at 18.30. We stopped for a quick snack at St Jean de Daye.
