At Home - January - February 2016
On return from Spain, and for most of the rest of January, I was " proper poorly ". A 'flu bug or something had caught up with me.
Sara came over by herself, and spent a few days visiting various people. By then, apart from feeling exceptionally run down and tired I had more or less recovered, and we went down to see Sue and Pete ... Pete having had an operation earlier. Friends from Chichester then picked her up and took her up to Megan, in Kingston, to see a reading of Jack and the Beanstalk, before taking her back to the Isle of Wight ferry for a few days stay on the Island, before returning to France.
February and March were spent dealing with fencing etc., which suffered in the high winds of storm " Imogen ", and with the inevitable paper work. Chris came up to give a hand in taking down the rotator from the chimney, and cutting the front grass, and tops of the hedges which I had trimmed previously.
Chris and I went out for a meal to the Pyrford Lock pub, where my credit card failed - having received a replacement card only two days before !
All this instead of being on holiday in February, but Sara and Tony - who were on a flying visit to Chelmsford to see friends - popped in on the way back to Portsmouth to pick up Carys, for a quick coffee.
It looks like I will not get to France again until the end of April - a long time away.
