FRANCE --May 2010
After delays due to the volcanic ash disruption, the public holiday and the elections, I was able to book a ferry to return to France.
Because I had not been able to return in April the grass looked as though it had never been cut, and the first couple of days was spent getting the garden into order again.
| The colder
weather had held back much of the blossom. But with the
warmer weather the Judas tree was in full bloom. In order to try and preserve the peaches, the leafcurled leaves were stripped off the branches. Time will tell whether this is a success. A bit more clearance of the strawberries, and another patch, completed the garden work. |

One hedgerow sighting was an orchid. |
After watching the Monaco Grand Prix, a start was made on more storage in the original bedroom. This will provide a convenient shelf and also storage, for timber at present, but later when the wood is used, for cases and other larger items.
.....
The weather became progressively warmer, and soon 24 - 25 shade temperature was the norm. Just before returning it peaked at about 30 degrees.
A brief
visit was made to the Ceaucé market and boot sale.

The start of the tennis, the French Open, at Roland Garros filled in a few moments ! I thought Andy Murray was on the way out in his first match, but he eventually came from 2 - 0 behind to win.
I shall see the rest of the tournament back in England.
