France - September 2016
I went out to France for a week on 13 September 2016. It was very hot and humid during the drive down and there was a violent hurricane and storm in the evening, which knocked out the electric ( EDF ) and brought many branches and complete trees down, ripped part of the hangar door off and deposited the gazebo over the field.
When Sara and I tried to go to Ambrieres in the morning we had to divert via Le Pas ..... there were many diversions whilst they cleared up after the storm havoc.
.....
Various shopping trips were made on the Friday, before going to an open mic evening a L'Epinay le Comte where Carys was also playing and singing.
.....
We ate in Gorron on the Saturday, before going to the fireworks at Cigné. (See Sara's site on Facebook for video of Fireworks finale )

The recreation ground was below the window where we sat ...... one of the odd features !
Sunday saw a crowd for lunch at Sara and Tony's.....and Monday saw a visit to the L'Imprevu after bramble clearing and a bonfire in the afternoon.
.....
The journey back to England was horrendous, with extra security checking at Cherbourg, no sleep or dozing on boat due to noise and lights and nearly 4 hours from Poole ( instead of an hour and a quarter approximately from Portsmouth ), with never ending diversions round Poole ( the main bridge was shut ) and Bournemouth, and delays on the M3. Never again ! I slept for about 4 hours when I eventually got home.
With the leaves off the trees the misletoe was more visible.

An August picture of the street party, and English residents of Rue des Rocs.( From last update )
